The Post Anesthesia Care Unit
is an eight bay unit providing primary recovery to adults and
children during emergence from general, regional, epidural, spinal,
or IV conscious sedation anesthesia. PACU is designed to care
for any post-operative patient except open heart patients and
organ transplant patients. The PACU is also utilized for special
procedures involving anesthesia personnel including electroconvulsive
therapy and pain blocks.
