Pre-Admission Testing includes an interview and evaluation with a hospital anesthesiologist, prescreening, the recording of medical history and a presentation that explains what the patient can expect during their stay at Moses Taylor. The specific pre-admission education provided to each patient is designed to decrease anxiety and offer information on specific procedures and treatment they will undergo, from surgery through recovery.

Patient
Access
The Patient Access Department at Moses Taylor Hospital
provides quality service in registration to patients throughout
their health care experience. Patient Access Services includes
registration of inpatients, outpatients and emergency registrations.
The Patient Access Department is located on the first floor of the main lobby. An Access Representative is available to conduct patient interviews. The information gathered is essential to the patient's chart and is passed on to billing, nursing and medical records. Patients are asked questions about their address, employment, method of payment and insurance coverage. Patients presenting for services should bring a form of positive ID and their insurance cards.
Pre Registration
Pre registration is part of the registration process that allows
patients to call in advance to register for upcoming scheduled
appointments.
Expectant mothers may pre register for their delivery. Forms are available in the OB/GYN office and should be completed 6-8 weeks prior to a mother's due date. Otherwise, a staff member from Moses Taylor Hospital will call mothers prior to their due date. Pre registration for delivery enhances the birthing experience as it eliminates reporting to the registration desk. Families in labor should report directly to the Family Birthing Suites on the 5th floor.

desk on the day of their testing and report directly to the department
for which they have an appointment.

Moses Taylor Hospital has a fast, convenient way to schedule all
outpatient tests and procedures. It is called One Call Scheduling
and it allows patients and physicians the ease and convenience
of dialing one number and speaking to one person to schedule all
outpatient diagnostic services.
Moses Taylor Hospital is the first and only medical facility in the Scranton area to offer this service. One call scheduling reduces the time patients spend on the phone calling various hospital departments to schedule tests. Now a patient or a physician will call (570) 207-3900 and schedule as many tests as necessary. We have a toll free number, 1-888-684-7867, available for long distance calls.
Another benefit of One Call Scheduling is the quick turn around of a patient itinerary. After tests are scheduled, patients are faxed or mailed important test preparations and instructions.
