Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Moses Taylor Hospital is a plan of care for the individual with pulmonary disease. This service, under the direction of Dr. John Peters, is centered around a program of monitored exercise and prevention. Through assessment, information and exercise, the program helps to control and/or alleviate the symptoms of pulmonary disease.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation begins with each person's desire to improve his or her activities of daily life and an assessment of the person's ability to exercise. The goal of improving these activities is accomplished by first increasing the ability of the body's muscles to work more efficiently through exercise, then by reducing pulmonary symptoms through regular assessment, patient information and interaction between the rehab staff , the pulmonary physician, and the primary physician.
Utilizing ultrasound techniques, the Vascular Lab provides
the physician with images of the carotid, arterial, and venous
peripheral systems. The neuro group services includes EEG (electroencephalogram
- a recording of the electrical activity of the brain), EMG (electromyogram
- a study of electrical activity of muscle), and miscellaneous
neuro-sensory measurements.
