YOUR EMPLOYEES We know that you are vitally interested in the lives and well-being of your employees. As an employer of over 1,000 professional and support staff, we share that interest in our own people and their family members. And as a health system, we share that interest in you, your employees and their family members.
That is why we developed our Employee Assistance Program, or EAP. It works internally to help us meet the needs that our own employees and family members may have; it works externally by reaching out to over 30,000 employees and family members of regional businesses, large and small. EAP helps with everything from marriage and parenting problems, to alcohol and drug abuse, to being a care giver for aging family members.
EAP is a low cost, confidential approach to workplace problems that have their roots in life outside of work. Experienced professionals help employees solve their own problems, or help get them to the specialized services they need when they need them. While EAP adds to the employee's quality of life, it adds to the stability of your workplace, and helps improve your bottom line. Studies have shown a $4 to $5 return for each dollar invested in EAP in reduced absenteeism, increased productivity, lower accident rates, lower turnovers and lower training costs.
HOW EAP WORKS
The Employee Assistance Program offers help in resolving personal problems of employees, which often reduces absenteeism, the use of health care benefits, and increases productivity. Replacement costs of hiring and retraining can be reduced when troubled employees are restored to full productivity.
Services of the EAP are an employee benefit and are available free to all employees and eligible family members at all levels of an organization. Employees can access EAP services by seeking help on their own and contacting the Moses Taylor WorkLife & Counseling Services directly, or they may be referred to the EAP through their supervisor. Participation is strictly voluntary and confidential. Counseling services will be provided in the EAP offices at Moses Taylor Hospital. Special arrangements can be made for counseling at the worksite.
Confidentiality is the cornerstone of the program. When an employee comes to the program on his or her own, no one else will know. If referred by a supervisor, information about an employee will be released only if authorized with written consent by the employee. EAP conforms to all HIPAA rules and regulations.
If the help of an outside resource is needed to resolve a problem, every effort will be made to secure no cost services, or services covered by your insurance plan. There are times, however, when fees for other community professional services will not be covered entirely by insurance. In this instance, the employee would require payment to the provider. The Eap representative will assist in securing affordable services.
