Joint
replacement is for people who have chronic hip or knee pain due
to arthritis or other diseases, serious injuries or accidents.Using
the latest technologically-advanced equipment, surgeons can replace
damaged parts of a hip or knee with a high-tech titanium joint.
Following a short recovery period, patients can begin to enjoy
life again.
The Joint Ventures
Program provides a comprehensive care plan that includes education,
wellness, recovery, and rehabilitation. The staff at Moses Taylor
Hospital offers individual education and training sessions with
patients to help them understand what to expect. While in the
hospital, patients are treated with special amenities that make
them feel more at home. Rehabilitation begins immediately after
surgery in the "Florida" room to help patients get back
on their feet. This special room provides the patient with a comfortable
setting for meals, daily exercise and socialization with others
in the program. Upon discharge, patients may use services of our
in-house Allied Services Rehabilitation Unit, Moses Taylor's Home Health and Physical
Medicine Department. If needed, they may also be coached by
occupational therapists to help them regain life's activities
with no time wasted.
Through the Patient Education Department, Moses Taylor Hospital offers several seminars a year on the Joint Ventures Program. The presentation is free and open to the public to address questions and concerns about joint replacement surgery. Contact the Joint Ventures Program, Patient Education Department or our Calendar of Events for information on the next seminar.
