The Pharmacy Department of Moses Taylor Hospital provides 24 hour service and is staffed by registered pharmacists and certified pharmacy techniciansas well as providing weekday Unit based Pharmacist on medical-surgical floors and ICU. The pharmacy provides service to all patients of the hospital and the 32 bed Skilled Nursing Facility.

Responsibilities of the pharmacy include: unit-dose medication distribution and dispensing utilizing PYXIS Medstation, Robotics, and automatic narcotic control.medication distribution and monitoring; pharmaceutical education; formulary management.

The goal of Pharmaceutical Care is to improve an individual patient's quality of life through the achievement of definite medication-related therapeutic outcomes:

· Proper and timely distribution of all medications.
· Prevention or reduction of patient's drug related symptoms
· Identification and prevention of potential medication related-problems
· Resolution of detected medication-related problems
· Prevention and avoidance of Medication Errors

The department also oversees the retail pharmacy, the Apothecary, which services our patients, employees and community with their medication needs.
