The Volunteer Services Department provides non-clinical assistance to the patients and staff at Moses Taylor Hospital. Individuals from the community, seniors, college students, and teens, have the opportunity to volunteer their time and talents in our facility. Volunteers are recruited, oriented to our facility, and assigned duties to perform according to their preferences and skills. They work in all areas of the hospital, from delivering patient mail to assisting departments in daily tasks to baking cookies in our cafeteria! Our volunteers are a vital part of Moses Taylor's care.

Mission

The Department of Volunteer Services is an integral part of Moses Taylor Hospital that supports the hospital's mission, which is "to provide continuously improving quality and cost-effective health care that is customer and community focused." Volunteers work without remuneration by augmenting services to patients, families and visitors in a reliable and responsible manner.

Criteria

The minimum age is 14. The volunteer candidate must be mobile, able to understand printed instructions, to follow directions accurately, and to work independently. The candidate should be available for 4 or more hours at least one day per week. Also, the candidate must successfully complete the hospital safety policies orientation program.

Positions available
· Visitors for elderly patients in the hospital and in the Skilled Nursing Facility
· Receptionist at Information Desk
· Clerical services (filing, etc.)
· Errands

The Moses Taylor Hospital Auxiliary

Mission
The Moses Taylor Hospital Auxiliary shall render service to the Moses Taylor Hospital by
supporting the Hospital's mission " to provide continuously improving quality and cost-
effective healthcare that is customer and community focused." The Auxiliary will promote the health and welfare of the community through health promotion activities and advocacy.
It will provide financial assistance to the Hospital through fundraising activities.

General membership meetings are held at 12 noon on the third Monday of the month
in the Hospital Conference Center on second floor. Meetings are not held in
January, February, July and August. The Board meets prior to the general
membership meeting. Lunch is provided by the hospital followed by a business
meeting and an informational or entertaining program. Notices of meetings and
newsletters are mailed to all members.

Dues are $5.00 per year. Renewal notices are mailed to all current members in November
of each year.
